Kurdish Christian church statement of faith

KURDISH CHRISTIAN CHURCH STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe:

  1. The Bible, both Old and New Testament, to be verbally inspired and completely inerrant in the original writings and to be the supreme and final authority in faith and life.  (Matthew 5:18, I Timothy 5:18, II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1: 19-21, II Peter 3:15-16).

  1. God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 28:19-20).

  1. Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father, born of the Virgin Mary, in very truth God, and in very truth Man.

(Luke 1:30-35).

  1. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, as truly as God the Father and God the Son.  (John 15:26).

  1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, after being buried following His crucifixion on the cross at Calvary, rose bodily from the dead, and that He is the Savior, and the only Savior, through Whom fallen man can find forgiveness and salvation.  (John 1:29).

  1. We believe that forgiveness from sin and salvation made by the vicarious death of Jesus Christ on the cross comes to man through personal faith in the crucified One — the Lord Jesus Christ, that salvation is by grace through faith, (Romans 3:10-23), Ephesians 2:8-9), and that all who receive, by faith, the Lord  Jesus Christ, are born of the Holy Spirit, and immediately become children of God — a relationship in which we are eternally secure.  (John 1:12, 3:4-7, Galatians 3:26, I John 5:11-13).

  1. We believe in the personal, imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which will be the occurrence of the rapture of the universal church, the one true church, the body of Christ.  We also believe in His literal return to rule over the earth.  (Revelation 19:11, Revelation 20:3, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Philippians 3:20-21, James 5:8,

Daniel 9:24).

  1. We believe in immersion in water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  (Mark 16:16, Luke 3:21, Colossians 2:12).

  1. We believe in the time-honored and well established Baptist principle of separation of church and state.

  1. We believe all who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit belong to the one true church, the Body of Christ.  (I Corinthians 12:13, Colossians 1:24, Titus 3:5).

  1. We believe in a bodily resurrection of all mankind, the everlasting existence with God of the saved, and the everlasting separation from God of the unsaved.

 (John 5:21-29, Acts 24:14-15, Revelation 20:11-15)
